Strong second place for Brent van Doninck in Lierop

Brent van Doninck of the JM Racing Honda team has achieved a second place in the first moto at the Dutch MX Season Opener in Lierop. Van Doninck rode strongly and showed that the good form is coming.

Van Doninck had found his feet in practice and managed to get a sharp second time out of it. Also in the first moto he left a very strong impression and followed leader Jeffrey Herlings. He was under pressure from Jago Geerts but kept his cool and managed to secure second place.

In the second moto, van Doninck crashed hard in the early stages, which meant that a good result was lost. With damage to the bike, van Doninck finished the race in eleventh place and finished fifth in the day’s classification.

Max Werner and Hakon Osterhagen competed in the MX2 class. Werner managed to set a sharp second fastest time in his group in qualifying. Osterhagen struggled with arm pump in time training, which meant he didn’t get any further than a fourteenth time.

From the outside, Osterhagen managed to get a good start in the first moto. The riding went well and managed to cross the finish line in sixth place. Werner struggled with arm pump. Towards the end of the moto things started to get better and he managed to get a thirteenth place.

Werner also finished thirteenth in the second moto. He was now less bothered by the arm pump and his speed was also better. Osterhagen came out of the start in the top ten but was still tired in his arms. This resulted in a few small crashes and no more than a seventeenth place.

This weekend the world championship will start for JM Honda Racing in Argentina!
